Thermofax Screen Service

Hello, my name is Lynn and I am a thermofax screen addict.

Its incredibly exciting to print my own fabric for my artwork and I decided to spread the love! I did a demo during Open Studios for Cloth Paper Scissors during the 2010 International Quilt Festival in Rosemont, IL on printing with thermofax screens.

Many people seemed intimidated by it and I'm here to tell you that its not difficult at all - its very easy and very fun!

Thermofax screens are used for screen printing. They are created using a thermofax machine (hence the name) which is an old photocopy technology. I'm especially drawn to using these screens because no chemicals are needed to create them. However, the machines are very difficult to find. I'm lucky to have one and have often been asked if I sell screens and I'm happy to say that now I do.

You can buy thermofax screens in my etsy shop. I sell both ready to print designs as well as the option to create your own screens featuring your personal images.

If you don't have an account with etsy and aren't interested in opening one, I am happy to do sales through email as well. All the pricing and shipping applies to orders through email so be sure to check out the etsy shop for all that information.  Just send me a note at FibraArtysta@earthlink.net and we'll get your order going.

Would you like to do some screen printing but have no idea how to begin? I created a video that shows the same demo I did during Open Studios and slapped it up on YouTube. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that YouTube has a ten minute time limit on videos and I filled up almost twenty minutes walking you through basic printing.

So I split the video into two halves. Be sure to watch them both or you'll miss the actual printing part! You can see them below or you can view them full size here.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at FibraArtysta@earthlink.net

And happy printing! :)

Hi Lynn,

It's great to find you. I have been looking for a thermofax screen source.

I am in Grand Blanc, Mi, and wondering if I am ever near where you are or are showing or teaching. We are down in the Auburn Hills, Troy, etc. area a lot and sometimes wander to Royal Oak or Ann Arbor for some good VEGAN food.

Lynn, I love using your screens. I also designed one you made for me and I'm pleased with that too.
Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
